UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called on U.S. authorities on Monday to ensure the protection of the rights of protesters in Ferguson, Missouri, where there have been demonstrations and rioting over the fatal police shooting of an unarmed black teen.
"The Secretary-General calls on the authorities to ensure that the rights to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression are protected," U.N. spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters.
"He calls on all to exercise restraint, for law enforcement officials to abide by U.S. and international standards in dealing with demonstrators," Dujarric said.

This is the first time I'm ready for RWNJ heads to explode by calling in UN troops or observers. But it shouldn't be necessary, we have the firepower to stand in the stead of any other military. The TX GOP (Tea Party) pitched a fit over the threat of 2012 UN election observers.
I'm wondering if a recall election of local officials is possible in Ferguson. I realize the people are so stressed with an average of 1.5 court cases per household, more arrest warrants a year than the total population and the poverty holding them back shown here:

Until then, they need our help to protect them to stabilize them. And the DOJ is handing out voter registrations to let them take back their control at the ballot box:

Part of the reason for the pipeline to prison that blacks face in America is voter disenfranchisement. Violent, unstable convicts have run on GOP tickets before, but so many can not vote for less socially destructive offenses.
