Police: 5 children, 1 woman taken hostage in Harvey, Illinois, after robbery

Source: CNN

Two robbery suspects took five children and a woman hostage Tuesday inside an Illinois home, spurring police to converge on the residence in hopes of freeing those inside.

From my nearby "public point of view," this is a typical hostage situation in which it takes 1000 police officers to capture 1 trapped hostage taker. This overreach, so typical, helps lead to law enforcement mistrust.
