Justin Bieber charged with assault after ATV crash in Canada
Source: CNN
Justin Bieber was arrested on assault and dangerous driving charges stemming from an alleged fight after his ATV collided with a mini-van in Canada Friday, a police spokesman told CNN Tuesday.
The alleged incident happened on a road in Perth County, Ontario, the community where Bieber, 20, lived as a child.
"Investigation revealed that after colliding, the driver of the ATV and an occupant of the minivan engaged in a physical altercation," Ontario Provincial Police spokesman Kees Wijnands said.

Would someone please send this little shit to jail. I'm sick of "celebrities" getting away with crap that would send the rest of us to prison for an extended vacation.

Bieber is out of control. He needs to help himself, but he also needs a firm hand from the outside. Maybe the right kind of punishment and guidance would put him back on track. I don't care for him, but I don't wish him dead.

(3,962 posts)1. Reckless driving in his neighborhood in 2012 and
2. charged in Brazil with vandalism in 2013 One of Bieber's neighbours in Calabasas, California accused Bieber of throwing eggs at his home on January 9, 2014 and causing thousands of dollars of damage.
3. On January 23, 2014, Bieber was arrested in Miami Beach, Florida together with singer Khalil, on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI),
4. driving with an over six month expired licence and
5. resisting arrest without violence.
6. Police said that Bieber told authorities he had consumed alcohol, smoked marijuana and taken prescription drugs. Bieber was released on a $2,500 bond. A tox icology report revealed that Bieber had THC (a principal constituent of cannabis) and the anti-anxiety medication Xanax in his system at the time of his arrest
7. On January 29, Bieber surrendered to the Toronto Police Services, who charged him with assaulting a limousine driver in Toronto on December 30, 2013
8. On July 9, 2014, Bieber was charged with one misdemeanor count of vandalism in California for throwing eggs at his Calabasas neighbour's home in January. Police earlier claimed that they had video footage of Bieber high-fiving friends after the eggs were thrown. With Bieber pleading no contest to the charge, the Los Angeles County Superior Court sentenced him on July 9 to pay US 80,900 in restitution, serve two years' probation, complete twelve weeks of anger management and five days of community service in what the district attorney termed a negotiated settlement.
Bieber had moved to Beverly Hills, California after the incident.
On August 13, 2014, the January DUI case was settled with a plea bargain. Bieber pled guilty to a charge of driving without due care and attention and resisting an officer without violence. Bieber was fined $500, sentenced to attend a 12-hour anger management course and required to view videos about tragic drink driving cases. Also as part of the plea bargain, Bieber made a $50,000 contribution to Our Kids, a local children's charity.
On September 2, 2014, Bieber was arrested and charged with assault and dangerous driving, following a "physical altercation" with the driver of a minivan that his quad bike had collided with. He was released under a promise to appear in court on September 29.
He is a danger to himself and others - deport him.

(62,444 posts)whether "assault by Justin Bieber" meets the requisite elements of an assault charge.
Does assault in Canada not require the victim to have reasonably apprehended serious bodily harm?

(62,444 posts)Under most definitions of assault (in those jurisdictions which distinguish between assault as the imminent threat of violence, as opposed to actual physical contact), the victim need to have reasonably apprehended serious bodily harm.
I think an "assault by Justin Bieber" charge is looking for dismissal for failure to charge an offense.
