Michael Brown's uncle collapses at St. Louis Police Foundation lunch

ST. LOUIS • Michael Brown’s uncle collapsed Tuesday afternoon at a police charity luncheon, eight days after speaking at the funeral of the young man at the center of the Ferguson shooting controversy.

Paramedics took the Rev. Charles Ewing from the America’s Center downtown to St. Louis University Hospital. His condition was not disclosed.

Most of the nearly 700 people attending the St. Louis Police Foundation event did not appear to notice as paramedics tended to Ewing. The foundation is a private organization that provides financial support to city police.
