Political observers agree that Chuck Hassebrook made a credible run as he sought to become the first Democrat in two decades to serve as Nebraskas governor.
But he failed to win the hearts, minds and votes of enough Republicans to overcome the registration advantage the GOP enjoys over the Democratic Party in Nebraska.
Hassebrooks campaign ended as it had started with a full-throttled promise to carry on the fight for the little guy.
