Alvarez launches criminal probe into robocalls to election judges

Source: Chicago Sun-Times

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s office on Monday launched a criminal investigation into a barrage of weekend robocalls that gave false instructions to elections judges — a chaos-sowing endeavor that elections officials called “a serious attempt to disrupt" Chicago voting.

(snip)

News of the robocall investigation comes as Mayor Rahm Emanuel demanded Wednesday that the City Council hold hearings to determine who was responsible for the calls, which scared 2,000 Chicago election judges into failing to show up at their assigned polling places.

(snip)

The mysterious weekend calls informed election judges they would either have to attend yet another training session to qualify for Tuesday's election or vote a certain way. Neither of those conditions was true.

(snip)

Ald. Edward M. Burke (14th), chairman of the City Council's Finance Committee, said if a Democratic ward boss had been responsible for a similar dirty trick, he or she would be sitting at the Dirksen Federal Building with a subpoena in their hands waiting to be marched into a federal grand jury.

It sounds like someone was making prank calls to judges. I almost didn't open it. But am glad I did open it.

Anyway, I'm wondering when RepubliCONS are going to do away with all this nicety-nice stuff and just call up Democratic voters and threaten them with murder if they vote. Simpler and more to the point.

We just need to look at those criminals they elect to office. A doctor from TN, Desjarlais, who raped and got several of this patients pregnant and forced them to have abortions, including his wife. He went free. Most rapist would be in prison. then we had the 2 time rapist elected to the Idaho state senate. This is the quality of people running under the GOP flag. They know the senile seniors will never find out about their backgrounds and elect them to office. How many current GOP lawmakers are now in office. We have Rep. Michael Grimm who will be in court early Dec facing a 20-count indictment. Another Republicans who won big. The we have 2 time Governor of Florida, R Scott, who stole over a billion from Medicare, never served a day in jail. He admitted the 14 felons he was charged for in TX.

This is just a short list of GOP law makers that are criminals and they get elected.
