Prosecutors: Brazoria deputy unplugged video recorder before allegedly groping women
By Harvey Rice | November 6, 2014

ANGLETON – A Brazoria County deputy sheriff accused of groping women during traffic stops unplugged a video recorder in his patrol car to make sure his actions were not recorded, prosecutors tried to show Thursday during his trial on four counts of official oppression.

The recorder in the patrol car driven by former Deputy Jason Burrows, 34, was missing a section of data that would likely have come from a power loss, an official from the company that manufactured the camera testified.

Defense attorneys Gregory Cagle and Scot Courtney tried to suggest that there could be other explanations for the loss of power other that it being unplugged, such as the car being shut down.

Assistant district attorneys Chase Clayton and Aaron Perry tried to convince a jury of six women that Burrows disabled the recorder to prevent video being captured of him grabbing a woman's breast and asking her to lift her skirt on June 10, 2012.

So now they are disabling the cameras in order to keep their illegal activities secret. Figures.

They should be required to record at all times, and recorder "malfunction" should be automatically tblue37 Nov 2014 #2
The fact that the recorder was unplugged shows premeditation. The deputy should be castrated. Louisiana1976 Nov 2014 #3

Abusers, predators, and their personality types seek professions where
they can exercise their proclivities on abundant raw material.

Would psychological testing help weed out such unsuitable candidates?

Or don't they have a clue either?

Criminals in other professions follow the same principle of proximity,
look at the rash of female high school teachers and their underage
students, as well as the well known clergy and their underage victims.

Very sad, what has happened to our society? Why can't we raise
ethical people who respect boundaries? The 'ME' generation has
bred narcissism.
