ACLU Nebraska plans to file suit challenging state's same-sex marriage ban

LINCOLN — ACLU Nebraska plans to file a federal lawsuit next Monday challenging Nebraska’s constitutional ban on same-sex marriage.
An email sent recently on behalf of ACLU Executive Director Danielle Conrad said the suit will ask for Nebraska to recognize same-sex marriages from other states and to allow same-sex couples to marry in Nebraska.
The email was sent to same-sex marriage supporters working with the state ACLU. One of the recipients forwarded a copy to The World-Herald.
In the email, Conrad did not name or describe the plaintiffs, and spokesman Tyler Richard declined to provide the information Monday.
