Ferguson grand jury decision expected today
Ferguson, Missouri (CNN) -- A decision is expected Monday from the grand jury in Ferguson, Missouri, that is weighing evidence in the Michael Brown shooting, U.S. and local law enforcement officials told CNN.
The announcement will come from the St Louis County Prosecutor, the sources said.
The sources did not know what decision will be announced.
The city has been on edge in anticipation of a decision. Some businesses have been boarded up, and activists are prepared to protest.

(60,346 posts)All weekend the hype was that is what they all wanted to talk about. And then the pudding, they talked about it! They just didn't have the verdict and hoped for violence to discuss and hype their propaganda further.
I am sure you never observe and make estimations.

(243 posts)Too much reasonable doubt surrounding the case IMO.
KingCharlemagne
(7,908 posts)'reasonable doubt'; the GJ need only satisfy the demands of 'probable cause.'
If there is an indictment, the prosecution must prove its case to a trial jury beyond a reasonable doubt.
and the fact that police officers are NEVER indicted in questionable shootings of people of color.
The smart gamblers know the deal.....If you are going to bet on whether an officer gets indicted for a questionable shooting of an unarmed person of color.....Bet on the house and against Black...You have a 95% shot at winning.

(3,208 posts)I don't know if I can come to peace. No justice, no peace!
I am going to be hopeful, even if I have to lie to myself, until I hear the words.
After that, I don't know.
Lots of frustration with the system and anger that the tides could have changed, but for some stupid people at the top.
Today I have been reminding myself that the country is full of people that believed the lies from bush, and hoping people have gotten smarter since then!

(38,958 posts)I checked the local news sources which seem to be starting coverage at 4pm Central time at least in one case. Watched MSNBC and it was nothing more than hyperventilation. Nothing on the school district page as of yet other than a generic letter of preparation, however the buses are bring the kids home as is usual today just had one roll down the street about 15 minutes ago.
I do understand that Clayton School District has cancelled for Tuesday.

(3,194 posts)Nothing will happen to him. He'll go somewhere else and join another police force once this has quieted down.
Plus he's negotiating his "resignation." For the good of the department, don't ya know. That could keep him comfortable for some time to come.
Nothing changes.

(3,194 posts)There won't be any civil rights indictment.
Neither will there be one for George Zimmerman.
That's just pomp & circumstance to appease the sheepies.
I especially love how Eric Holder said he was committed to an investigation on Ferguson, and then he announced his resignation a few days later. It won't be his problem when they eventually say there is nothing to charge Wilson with.
A Federal charge is more difficult to impose than a GJ indictment. They have to prove he was racially motivated, which is extremely difficult, unless the guy is an avowed racist, which has never been maintained.
