Senator Claire McCaskill asks for peace following Ferguson decision

Source: AP

ST. LOUIS (AP) - U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill of Missouri is calling for residents and law enforcement in her home state to remain peaceful after the announcement that a white police officer will not be indicted in the shooting death of an unarmed black 18-year-old.

The Democratic senator made the comments Monday night after official word of the grand jury's decision not to indict Ferguson police Officer Darren Wilson, who shot and killed Michael Brown.

McCaskill called the announcement "a result of a deliberate legal process." She says the result is being "independently checked" by a separate U.S. Justice Department investigation

Senator McCaskill has been an ardent defender of the prosecutor. She really doesn't have much credibility here.

she can talk about the 'deliberate legal process' (when it was anything but and everyone other than first-graders knows it).

..."No justice? No peace!" Peace is not possible without justice. It's that simple.

Wouldn't justice be the better way to go, than all this destruction? Where is the justice when a panel of 12 people are scared to death to indict a blatant killer just because of his uniform? And who ever heard of a grand jury taking 3 months to decide whether or not to indict? I hope that Grand Jury is proud of itself tonight.

Socialists, Communists and independent trade unionists would have begged to differ. Well, they were all in concentration camps, so out of sight and out of mind.

During the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, Claire would have been one of those urging Warsaw Ghetto residents to stay 'peaceful.'

It means nothing to you that an entire population of a US city is so completely tired of being oppressed they will burn their own city to the ground. Wake the hell up. A child was murdered in broad daylight by a supposed law enforcement official in the road and left there for 5 hours. While his parents watched. Put those shoes on for a second Claire!!

A child was shot in Cleveland because he waved a toy gun. There is no violence Cleveland. I am sure African Americans in Cleveland have legitimate grievances with the Cleveland PD.

I am a New Yorker. Four cops STRANGLED a man to death on the sidewalk earlier this year. An unarmed man was shot by a cop walking down the stairwell of his apartment building last week . There were no riots in New York. People of color have been treated horribly by the NYPD.

I am appalled that Michael Browns murderer won't face justice. But I see nothing wrong in calling for calm. Which is exactly what the President said.
