Hong Kong Protest Founders 'Surrender', Urge Movement To Retreat

Source: Agence France-Presse

HONG KONG (AFP) -

The three original founders of Hong Kong's pro-democracy Occupy movement tearfully announced Tuesday they would "surrender" by turning themselves into police and urged protesters still on the streets to retreat.

"As we prepare to surrender, we three urge the students to retreat ?- to put down deep roots in the community and transform the movement," said Occupy Central leader Benny Tai.

It's sad to see how far the Movement has fallen when there's so little solidarity here in the States... People's corporations want them to not go after the source of all their wealth -- the Chinese corporate slave state.

Do you know what's worth fighting for? / When it's not worth dying for?
Does it take your breath away and you feel yourself suffocating?
Does the pain weigh out the pride? / And you look for a place to hide?
Did someone break your heart inside, you're in ruins

One, 21 Guns / Lay down your arms / Give up the fight
One, 21 Guns / Throw up your arms into the sky
You and I ...

When you're at the end of the road / And you lost all sense of control
And your thoughts have taken their toll
When your mind breaks the spirit of your soul
Your faith walks on broken glass and the hangover doesn't pass
Nothing's ever built to last, you're in ruins

One, 21 Guns (refrain)

ALL: Did you try to live on your own?
When you burned down the house and home?
Did you stand too close to the fire?
Like a liar looking for forgiveness... from a stone

When it's time to live and let die

And you can't get another try
Something inside this heart has died, you're in ruins

One, 21 Guns / Lay down your arms / Give up the fight
One, 21 Guns
Throw up your arms into the sky

You and I

Our Constitutional right to peaceably assemble has eroded. There are those here who are now above the law, while the law is not protecting the rest of us. As corporations and the Plutocrats continue to have the politicians they bought rewrite the laws in their favor they take more and more away from us!
When will we, as a whole, realize that something must be done? I hope it is not too late. We have the additional time crunch of Climate Change, which will not be properly addressed, unless and until we gain our Representative Democracy back!
