The media can't twist this around to make political hay out of it, and if the masses were to freak out they may not go out and spend during this shopping season.

Officials at Massachusetts General Hospital confirmed that a patient suspected of being infected with Ebola has tested negative. However, the patient has tested positive for malaria.

Hospital officials say the patient previously worked in Liberia where the Ebola virus has hit the hardest. In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines the patient has been under observation since Tuesday afternoon.

The patient, who the hospital has declined to identify, will continue to be closely monitored.
