New Mexico lawmakers eye hemp production bill

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A Democratic New Mexico senator wants to allow farmers to grow an industrial version of marijuana's non-intoxicating cousin.

Sen. Cisco McSorley has filed legislation aimed at legalizing the selling hemp and licensing of farmers to grow the crop.

Growing marijuana among hemp plants lowers the potency of the THC (I am sure there is a better explanation than I can give!).

I would think by now that "law enforcement" agencies would learn that pot use is not any worse than alcohol, but I guess they would lose money if they admitted it.

This sounds like a great thing for the farmers there. Hemp is an amazing plant that can be used for many things.
