The Narcissistic fantasy of Mitt Romney 2016
http://theweek.com/articles/534651/narcissistic-fantasy-mitt-romney-2016-snip-
The prospect of a third Mitt Romney run for the White House is really getting me down. I dont just mean that I think its ridiculous. Jonathan Chait has written that (very funny) column already. I mean that the thought of Romney throwing his hat into the ring yet again is actually making me sullen.
For the better part of a year, Ive been telling friends and family members that theres no way Romney would run again. (Here I am saying as much last summer.) And now it looks like I might have been wrong. But the issue isnt that I may have made a bum call as a columnist. I now realize its not so much that I didnt think he would run as that I didnt and still dont want him to run and not because Im a Democrat and think hed be such a formidable opponent.
Quite the opposite.

(38,958 posts)1. I think a run by Mitt would be wonderful
it was so enjoyable last time and in this coming season, pitting money vs the money of the possible Bush campaign would be a great show to watch.

You saw how THAT turned out!
I don't think this should be taken TOO lightly...

said I would enjoy the show, and I remember when Ronald Reagan was elected.

(2,682 posts)4. Romney = the new Harold Stassen
Per Wikipedia: Stassen was later best known for being a perennial candidate for the Republican Party nomination for President of the United States, seeking it 10 times between 1940 and 2000 (1940, 1944, 1948, 1952, 1964, 1968, 1980, 1984, 1988, and 1992).
Stassen was a joke; Romney could well become the new jokester candidate.
