Tue Mar 10, 2015 10:13AM

A fresh report in Japan shows the number of deaths by radiation from the country’s Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster in 2011 increased by 18 percent last year.

The report published on Tuesday by the Japanese newspaper Tokyo Shimbun said figures from authorities in Fukushima Prefecture showed a total of 1,232 deaths in 2014 were linked to the nuclear disaster.

The highest number of fatalities occurred in the town of Namie near the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, with 359 deaths, followed by 291 cases in Tomioka town also near the plant.

There hasn't been a single death associated with radiation exposure from Fukushima.

There have been hundreds of deaths "linked to the nuclear disaster", but (with a few excepions like falling on the site), they've al been related to the stresses of evacuation and living in shelters unable to go home.

You really had to go to an Iranian site for this nonsense?

and that TEPCO continues to hide information.
TEPCO has admitted that they did not divulge ongoing groundwater contamination, and they have been secretive about how much contaminated water they are dumping into the ocean, for years now.

June 2013:
TEPCO withheld Fukushima groundwater contamination data for weekshttp://japandailypress.com/tepco-withheld-fukushima-groundwater-contamination-data-for-weeks-2131013/

Feb. 2014:
Tokyo Electric Power Co. did not tell the public until recently that massively high levels of radiation were found in groundwater collected last July at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant, even though the utility was aware of the data that month, according to sources.http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2014/02/11/national/tepco-withheld-record-level-radiation-data-last-summer/
