Pallin’ Around With Voter Purging Susan G. Komen’s Dirty Leadership Secret

Now that Komen pulled funding from Planned Parenthood for cancer screening for poor women under the guise of integrity, Komen has been both hacked and ditched. Behind this PR debacle is a rabid right winger named Karen Handel who has quite the “Christian pro-life” past, including being investigated for purging voters in Georgia and more.

She is Komen’s Senior Vice President for public policy, and she is behind the move to defund Planned Parenthood. Komen is trying to walk it back, claiming it’s not political, but it’s more political than it even appears on the surface.

I will not fight Karen Handel on her anti-choice position or the immorality of depriving poor women of cancer screening so that she can raise her pro-life credentials. No thanks. I’d like to talk about what Karen Handel best represents, and that is rampant disenfranchising of minority voters and elections with a zero rating of integrity. This is who Komgen chose to be in charge of their public policy. Komen claims the issue is one of integrity. So, by all means, it’s only fair that we examine her integrity.

The right has lost theirs, & I don't expect they'll find it anytime soon, either.

Good article.

Komen was founded by Nancy Brinker, aided in large part by her husband's wealth (Norman Brinker).

Wikipedia article here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nancy_Brinker

Excerpt:
Nancy Goodman Brinker (born December 6, 1946, in Peoria, Illinois) is the founder and CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, an organization named after her only sister, Susan, who died from breast cancer in 1980 at age 36.[1] Brinker was also United States Ambassador to Hungary from 2001 to 2003 and Chief of Protocol of the United States from 2007 to the end of the George W. Bush administration. Brinker, a breast cancer survivor, uses her experience to heighten understanding of the disease. She speaks publicly on the importance of patient's rights and medical advancements in breast cancer research and treatment.[2][3] She is currently serving as the World Health Organization's Goodwill Ambassador for Cancer Control.[4] Brinker is the author of the New York Times bestselling book Promise Me - How a Sister's Love Launched the Global Movement to End Breast Cancer, released on September 14, 2010.

Brinker has helped build Komen by fostering a coalition of relationships within the business community, government, and volunteer sectors in the United States.[5] For her work on breast cancer research, Time magazine named Brinker to its 2008 list of the 100 most influential people in the world.[6] Calling her "a catalyst to ease suffering in the world," President Barack Obama honored Brinker with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor on August 12, 2009.

... Nancy commands a salary in excess of half a million dollars a year.

And from the Wikipedia article on her husband: "The couple were active Bush Pioneers, wealthy donors who provided $100,000 or more of financial support for George W. Bush's presidential ambitions."

5. People need to be reminded of what's in this article about Handel's part in Georgia election fraud:

snip-
You might recall Handel’s name, as she hails from the peach state and ran for governor in 2010. Her name is also sort of synonymous with charges of illegally purging voters from the rolls in 2008.

A lawsuit was filed against Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel claiming her office was breaking at least two federal laws by illegally purging voters from registration rolls based on challenges to citizenship

snip
Handel was also the recipient as Georgia’s then Secretary of State of Ohio attorney Cliff Arnebeck’s request to retain all memory cards and e-voting documents used in the 2002 elections, and all documents related to uncertified patches allowed to be implemented on Diebold voting machines in Democratic voting districts. Though Handel was not the SOS at the time of that election, she noted the trouble with the machines while campaigning. That election resulted in Republican Saxby Chambliss winning in a reverse of early polling and Republican Perdue winning in an upset that contrasted with polls (polls are used to detect potential election fraud).

In 2002, Georgia became the first state to conduct statewide elections with unverifiable voting equipment. By 2004, Georgia got an F-, ranking last in the country for election verification and recount preparedness. Handel ran on getting rid of this awful system, but had a complete reversal after becoming Secretary of State. Campaign donations to Handel from Massey & Bowers(lobbying group representing Diebold) and their employees speak to a possible conflict of interest. It is apparently legal in Georgia to sell public policy to lobbyists, and no, that’s not a joke; it’s the South, and Republicans rule there. But while it may be legal, it speaks to Handel’s integrity, does it not?

But WAIT... there's MORE!......
