I'm not sure if it's that we're giving the Saudis a pass as letting them do some of our dirty work yurbud May 2015 #3

without money, weapons, and diplomatic cover from Saudi and a handful of other Gulf countries, these groups would be able to do much beyond sit around a coffee shop and bitch.

We either let or encourage our allies over there to turn loose the zombies to undermine regimes or to give us an excuse to go over and chase them.

If we don't stop that process, there will be another group and another until the last drop of oil is sucked out of the sand and Washington magically loses interest in the Middle East.

... but we've never done anything to stop the Saudis. No matter how blatant and egregious Saudi crimes may be - remember 9/11? - they've always gotten a free pass because of the enormous US debt they own, not to mention oil. There's always oil.

Regardless of the fact that Cheney and the Chimp created this mess, it is OUR mess, and we've got to clean it up, or the resentment will fester and possibly result in terrorist acts. Oh. Wait... that's already happening, and it's what those evil fucking psychopaths wanted all along!

I LOVED Obama when he was campaigning, but when he appointed Summers and Geithner, I knew we'd been played, BIG time. He's just another self-serving politician who mouths the words everyone wants to hear, and then pulls shit like the TPP, thus exposing his perfidy.

So I stand by my assessment.

besides Afghanistan, they arranged a terror attack in response for the Beirut Marine barracks bombing.

And unleashing their flying monkeys of ISIS on Syria was mighty convenient given that Syria was on the list of countries to invade or overthrow during the Bush admin.

In the context the US using Saudi as a proxy in the Middle East covertly (the way we use Israel more overtly), the possibility of Saudi doing 9/11 at the behest of some in our government seems less like a conspiracy theory and more like the most likely option (until someone declassifies or leaks those 28 pages and we can see the real motive).
