(2,382 posts)... of political correctness. Just disagreeing with Israeli foreign policy will get you tarred as anti-Semitic. Hell, I got criticized for calling out Netanyahu when he addressed the House, and that was REALLY out of line for any foreign leader let alone a supposed ally.
I'm not prejudiced; I despise all religions equally. Though it is kinda hard to rank out the Buddhists; they CALM...!

(2,382 posts)... there is strong evidence that it is the former than may be the prime motivator. Schumer's ties to Netanyahu are well-documented. And then there's this:

(57,275 posts)a good man Congress by not just insinuating a lack of loyalty to the US but explicitly stating it.

(2,382 posts)Schumer has publicly referred to himself as the "guardian" (the meaning of "Schumer" in Hebrew) of Israel in the US Senate. You're free to think what you want. His past actions and this one make me question where his real loyalties lay.
I was pretty sure this 'toon might ruffle some feathers, but I think they need ruffling. Schumer's faith does not exempt him from criticism, especially for siding with Republicans on such a critical issue. And Netanyahu's arguments against the agreement negotiated by SIX nations, not just Obama, are total bullshit, not to mention his despicable stunt when he tried to undermine Obama, whom he hates, in the House of Representatives. Both he and Schumer deserve to be called out for it.

(2,382 posts)Over the past week, a great many commentators and several editorial cartoonists have voiced exactly the same suspicions I expressed in this cartoon. Schumer is taking serious heat for this decision, and no one seems to doubt that his motivations were something far less than honorable. He can kiss millions in campaign contributions goodbye, and a primary challenge has become a real possibility as well.
He aroused the ire of many when he voted for the disastrous Iraq war, the Patriot Act, and all the other times he took sides with Republicans. So I do not share your respect for the man.
