the real time (and accurate) citizen journalist reporting of the police murders of innocents on the Danziger Bridge and what was happening in the hospitals.

I still cry when I think about it. We will likely never lose the shame of how horrible the response and that to this day, we STILL don't have an official accounting of how many died.

Exactly NONE of that forecasters predictions were accurate:

In fact, the storm had been over and moved north for 24 hours before a flood wall gave way and flooded the city.The storm itself registered about 130 mph gusts....New Orleans has taken much worse than that.

Katrina was a Cat 3 when it hit New Orleans.... a medium storm, NOT apocalyptic
Without the flood wall failure (I refuse to call it a levee because it isn't),
New Orleans would have been cleaned up and open for business one day after a 130mph storm.
