It is said that Trey Gowdy never lost a case as a prosecutor.

Given the irrefutable evidence of malice aforethought and gross malfeasance in his pursuit of a "conviction" of a former Secretary of State, would it not be perfectly reasonable to revisit for possible prosecutorial misconduct, at least some of his sketchier convictions of poor mopes that didn't have a chance against the crushing jaws of a grotesquely corrupt court system?

I mean, the sonofabitch has withheld, distorted, and fabricated evidence, lied through his teeth, employed blatant intimidation tactics, and generally demonstrated that he is a world-class asshole worthy of the undying contempt of every sentient being on this planet. What's not to despise?

Being free from not only prosecution not matter what the misconduct, but even from media scrutiny.

My suspicion, though, is that his string-pullers are tiring of his incompetent antics. When they (probably the Bush family, given that he endorses Jeb despite the opinions of his fellow Carolinians) realize he's a liability, that'll be the end of Gowdy Doody's colorful little career.

... punished for willful misconduct, but it might help some of his victims. Seeing him disbarred and disgraced would be the most delicious sort of schadenfreude. Leave it to the Germans to have a word for that!

But alas the cretinous little bastard has it made, since he knows he´ll never be held to account for using a federal institution and millions of taxpayer dollars for a political stunt.

C´est la vie, non?

You know, I had a basset some years ago. They can be difficult; but it's hard to imagine a dog that "gets" you as well as they do.

... named Athena who was the best dog I ever knew.

After she passed, our son bought us a Shi Tzu. She was a feisty little sweetheart. Making the transition from German Shepherd Guy to Shi Tzu Guy was traumatic, but I survived.

Now we have two Shi Tzus, a Min Pin, and two Siamese cats. All males. The pissin' contests are a riot. We need a bigger bed, but I don't know what comes after King Size.

The closest I came to that was at one point (late '90s) having two ducks, two rabbits, and of course the basset. The group photos were a real hoot.

Pets do make a home.
