Fox Pundit Says Women In The Military Should ‘Expect’ To Be Raped!
Fox News contributor Liz Trotta
For Trotta, the issue is having women once more, the feminist, going, wanting to be warriors and victims at the same time. She cited a recent Pentagon report that violent sex crimes in the military have increased over the last 6 years and said women should expect it, decrying more levels of bureaucracy to support women who have been raped too much:

(6,086 posts)old bag? Girlfriend needs to look into security because I know women and 2 men who nave endured AND survived rape. They're not the most balanced people on the planet and will be incensed to hear what this hag has to say. Maybe serious mental health treatment is in order too because it takes a tah-wisted pound or two of grey matter to come up with that mess of a comment.
How much lower will The republican cable news network go..., "NOT RAPED ENOUGH??" Really?

(382 posts)Isn't this the old "boys will be boys argument?" That's as sexist towards men as it is towards women.
"Poor men; they just can't control their willies. Women should expect to be verbally and physically abused if they want to have the same right to hold a job as men."
Riiiiight! - Women in the military are signing up to be raped, and rapists are just normal men in too close proximity with women.
How regressive! How bigoted! How stupid!

(14,120 posts)I really get ticked at that old Stereotype of men. Men can control themselves, they do not go all caveman around a men in woman just because they are in the Military. It is stupid and wrong and the men in uniform should be thought better of than that!

(11,411 posts)I don't know what kind of training they have in regards to the inappropriateness of sexual harassment and assault, but it clearly needs to be increased. Any sexual harassment needs to be punished. Any sexual assault needs to be severely punished. If the military made this a priority, rape within the military should be much lower than within the civilian population.
Attitudes of people like Trotta help perpetuate the acceptability of discrimination and violence in the military against women.
