that is a Clinton lie. All he would have to do is offer a public option and watch people drop their insurance companies. It's not rocket science, if a public option is cheaper and easier, people will use it.
Right now even Medicaid is confusing because you have to choose your insurance company. Some places don't except your insurance and some places do. You have to fully read and understand each insurance company offering. And, when you turn 65 it is even scarier. You are flooded with insurance company offers and each one offers different 'perks', choose the wrong one and you lose your doctor.
The ACA is a horrible mess. Before, if you had Medicaid, you could ask if they accept Medicaid and be told yes or no. Now, when you call you ask if they take a certain insurance company, and they ask you which plan within the insurance company. If you don't know the correct wording of your plan and all the ins and outs, you're screwed. You have to then either read the company info pack, which really just explains all of the options of various plans, or you call the insurance company. It's all a very stressful procedure, which could have been avoided.
