Tomorrow, Memorial Day, might be the last time the flag of traitors, the Confederate States of America, flies over the nation’s veterans’ cemeteries. Finally, most of the country seems to be coming to understand what the Stars and Bars stands for.

... the House of Representatives approved, 265-159 without debate, a prohibition on flying the Confederate flag from Veterans Administration cemetery flagpoles ...

A co-sponsor, Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.), said the Veterans Administration cemeteries should not be a “place where we preserve the symbols of slavery and Jim Crow.” That ought to be the rule no matter who lies in the graves ...

The Union endures; it owes no honor in its burial grounds to traitors.

Indeed. That flag has no place in a U.S. Veterans Cemetery. Although normally I would object to the conservative Herald being cited on DU, here the fact that Herald staff have issued this opinion piece is news itself, and good news.
