Every now and then there is a movie that has somehow been able to forecast future events. One of the most famous examples was the 1979 release of The China Syndrome which eerily paralleled events that happened just before the films release, when a nuclear meltdown threatened Three Mile Island. And I have long maintained that the 1957 classic A Face In The Crowd, criminally under-appreciated at the time of its release, basically presaged the Donald Trump presidential campaign.

(30,761 posts)1. Love that movie!
When I got it from Netflix, I coerced my husband into sitting still to watch it. We don't always have the same tastes in movies. He was glad he saw it.

there streaming selection is pathetic- they never have anything I am looking for. Amazon Prime has it, but my trial period is over, and I can't pony up for a couple weeks yet.
