Melissa McEwan writes for Shakesville:

One of the (many) consequences of the routine dehumanization of Hillary Clinton—whether treating her like garbage or treating her like a superhero—is that we tend to lose sight of the fact that, in every situation, she is still a human being. A woman. Who carries with her all the baggage of being a woman in a deeply misogynist culture.

Which includes having had scary interactions with intimidating men.

SNIP
She had to face him. She had, to finish this test, confront him about his abuse of women, which every woman knows is a dangerous proposition.
She had to stand on that stage, in front of millions of viewers
, locked in a battle with a man who was pacing like a caged beast with a rageful expression, telling her he'd throw her in prison if he could, and stalking her around the stage to intimidate her with his physical presence.

Clinton has learned that, for women, being human means denying parts of your humanity around dangerous men. And so she faced her opponent, a man who has harmed women and been capricious with her very life, with the obligation to show only the parts of her humanity that she could.
"Accessible for the audience, but not vulnerable for Trump.
Close off this part, but not that one."

It's an absurd and horrendous ask. And somehow she navigated it. So expertly, in fact, that I've not heard a single pundit—or anyone else, for that matter—even comment on the fact that she had to do it at all.
That maybe it was quite unsettling for her to face Donald Trump and all his grotesque misogyny and incitement.

She is formidable as fuck.
And she is brave.
And she's done it for so long, so successfully, that hardly anyone even notices how extraordinary it is anymore.

My husband and I had the same discussion Sunday night.

When she strolled out on the stage Sunday night, my husband says "Look at that smile...she's not afraid of anything, is she?"

I said Probably, but she's not scared of Assface Trump!

courage, heart, and steadfast, that's what I saw Sunday. No one should have to be threatened and menaced the way she was, it was so vile and disgusting, I kept wanting to change the channel. I screamed, I vented, while she kept her cool. Amazing woman and she will be a great president,

I have always liked David Corn.
McEwan writes in a similar style. Straight matter-of-fact. Cuts through the bull & spin.

I often find her writings as a contributor on hillaryhq.com
but Shakesville is her home base.

She's pretty darned cool.

I say this as a Bernie and Obama supporter: I'm as fired up to vote for Hillary as I was to vote for Obama twice. And she's one of three people in this world that meeting would be a life-changing event for me (the other two being President Obama and Neil deGrasse Tyson).

She's awesome, and she'll make a great President.

There's a short video at the link where Hillary's Press ppl asked her about the stalking.
I couldn't bring the clip here but this whole article honors Hillary for representing everyone who has been the victim of mysogyny.

Honestly, Trump's dominant behavior at the "debate" was a definate emotional trigger for many.

27 days & maybe we can have 1 entire day of news without seeing his face on TV.

The inauguration of Madam President Hillary Clinton will be another epic emotional trigger for many also.
It symbolically lays to rest generations of "Trump-like behavior".
It will be glass breaking, dams bursting, and quiet internal retribution for all who witness it today and silent thank you's to all who have gone before.
