1. A: War is just a foreign policy tool to our leaders

B: Their asses, and the asses of those whom they (purportedly) care for are not on the line.
C: Imperialism, and profit, are far more important to our leaders than morality, or human advancement.

As an aside, Iran is trying to get a nuclear weapon because, among other reasons, the United States does not invade sovereign nations with nuclear weapon capability.
