Democrats Best Chance to Retake the House? 8 Types of G.O.P. Districts to Watch

'Democrats have debated extensively over whether their path to power goes through the white-working-class Rust Belt states or the diverse, well-educated Sun Belt. In 2018, this debate is moot. The Democrats don’t have the luxury of choosing where to compete in House races. They’ll have to target all of these areas.

The problem for Democrats is simple: There just aren’t many great opportunities for them to pick up seats in Democratic-leaning areas. Instead, they’ll have to compete in a lot of districts where they’re competitive but not favored.

There are probably 70 or so districts where Democrats have a better than 10 percent chance to win if the national political environment is especially favorable to them. To retake the House, Democrats will try to put as many of these seats into play as possible, and hope to end up with the 24 they need.

To illustrate, we’ve divvied up Republican House districts into eight groups to keep an eye on. The groups aren’t strictly based on competitiveness: Within groups, some members are far more vulnerable than others. There are a few districts that don’t fit neatly into any of the groups, and there are a few that fit into several. But the kinds of opportunities and challenges facing Democrats or Republicans in each group are pretty similar.'>>>

IF the voting system was more fair than what this NY Times article said would be true. However, things are far from fair when it comes to voting in this country, and in fact it's worsening.

Say you're a Dem voter who'll BE purged, crosschecked, gerrymandered, or voter ID'd off of a voter roll or removed completely from a Dem voter data base in 2018, How CAN you vote Dems into a majority in the Senate? And given how vulnerable to hacks our voting apparatus is per our OWN intelligence community And on top of all of those ominous things, they'll be ruskie interference again, and so I can actually see thulicans picking up more House/Senate seats in 2018. They're in charge of the national government and everything about the voting process from registration to vote totaling, and knowing how corrupt and treasonous they ARE, I see no reason why they won't be emboldened to increase their numbers in the House & Senate. I mean, whose to stop them? They have all of those "built in" advantages they've made for themselves. Also, there isn't enough time for any really proper fixes to our voting machines/apparatus etc., And no $$$ will be allotted by tReasonous tRumputin to upgrade our voting systems across this country, and in all reality tRump nor beauguard nor ANY treasonous thuglican is down for election fixes or for MORE fairness in our election systems.

Why aren't MORE Dems crowing about this? We have evidence to back this up. No, there's not enough time to fix things and no $$ alloted to overhaul and make our voting system more fair per tRumputin et al, but to not talk about it?
