Roy Moore accused of new sexual assault allegation of a minor, letter to accuser revealed

Roy Moore has just been hit with a new allegation of sexually assaulting a minor, with the accuser coming forward to present evidence of Moore's pursuit of her in the form of a hand-written note. Does anyone think Moore will step down? It seems like even McConnell and other top Republicans want no part of him (probably because he's bad for their image.)

The following is the text of a statement released on Monday by Beverly Young Nelson, accusing Roy S. Moore, the Republican Senate candidate in Alabama, of a sexual assault when she was a teenager.

My name is Beverly Young Nelson.

I was born on November 14, 1961. In Santa Maria, California.

My husband, John, and I have been married for the last 13 years. He has taken time off from his work as a truck driver to be here with me today and I thank him for that.

When I was 15 years old I began working after school. I was attending Gadsden High School. I worked at the Olde Hickory House on E. Meighan Blvd. off of Highway 431 in Gadsden, Alabama. I worked there after school as a waitress. Some nights I worked until 7pm and other nights until 10pm.

Mr. Roy Moore was a regular customer. He came in almost every night and would stay until closing time. He sat at the counter in the same seat night after night. I remember exactly where he sat. ...

3. Yes, and her on-camera statement should be especially powerful.

She looks and sounds just like half the women in every church congregation in the south. Including black except for a detail or two.

That won't keep her from being inundated with attacks, of course, but just maybe it'll break some assumptions that should never have been formed.
