Trumps Frankenmoore Nightmare - WSJ editorial

Trump’s endorsement of Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore got us thinking about the game of chess.

On Wednesday Senate Democrats adroitly placed the Republicans, and Mr. Trump, in check. Six female Democratic Senators— Kirsten Gillibrand, Kamala Harris, Claire McCaskill, Patty Murray, Mazie Hirono and Maggie Hassan —called on fellow Democrat Senator Al Franken to resign over multiplying allegations of sexual harassment. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said the same hours later. Mr. Franken’s office said he will make an announcement Thursday.

It is not hard to see what is going on here. The Democrats are creating a Frankenmoore nightmare for Donald Trump. Monday brought Mr. Trump’s Moore endorsement, followed by a commitment of support from the Republican National Committee. The next day, Rep. John Conyers stepped down from his House seat, clearly under pressure from fellow Democrats.

This is what the state of play looks like: The Democrats are eliminating their stains, while the Republicans are endorsing theirs. You have to believe in magic to think this is going to end well for Republicans.

In Wednesday’s Washington Post, Democratic operative Joshua Karp described the Moore strategy explicitly: “Whether he wins or loses, Republicans own him, and we are going to make sure the public knows that for the next year.”

(snip)

If Mr. Moore wins, he will haunt the Trump Presidency. The Democrats took their sexual harassers off the table. Mr. Trump may put his party’s in the Senate. Every day, the Democrats and the Beltway media will run the narrative that Senator Roy Moore is Donald Trump’s doppleganger.

The editors conveniently forgot to include Trump in the same boat. In reality, what they are concerned about is that Moore's win will also be a win for Bannon and they dread it.

But, hey, we might as well take a page from this.

So the Trump stain will do nothing to the GOP.
While the Democratic resignations will weaken the Democratic party

If they do - it will be with pride. They know - beyond a shadow of a doubt - that there is segment of the population who votes for Republicans and could care less as long as we are a 'White Christian Nation'.

They simply don't care - wsj is making stuff up.

You should be proud of yourself for having a gag reflex. Clearly, the vast majority of alternative facts Trump apologists have long since lost theirs. How else could they spew stinking hypocrisy from their mouths every day without choking on it?

Why do you suppose Kellyanne Conway is so skinny? With no gag reflex to restrain her, she can swallow any excuse for information provided to her and regurgitate it into a pre-digested bile to feed the angry birds who flock to Fox News.

I think that I snipped quotes by someone or, as usual, an attempt to trash the Democrats.
