The Democrats achieved several goals. They got CHIP funded. The shutdown publicized the fact that the GOP was holding both CHIP and the DREAM act hostage.

In three weeks the Dems will be in a better messaging position. BUT ONLY IF we all tell people how much we care about the DREAM act and how un-American it would be to deport these hardworking immigrants.

It's on us.

Focus on our values: America welcomes immigrants.

Stop complaining about Democrats giving in. This three-day shutdown was a good communications move.

And remember that both GOP and Russian trolls are focused on dividing Democrats. That means us. It means DU. It would be surprising if the GOP/Russia Democrat-division campaign did NOT target DU.
