Trump's cognitive deficits seem worse. We need to know if he has dementia: Psychologist
We see signs that the president's abilities are declining, but the only way to find out for sure is to give him a full neuropsychological evaluation.
If Donald Trump were your father, you would run, not walk, to a neurologist for an evaluation of his cognitive health. You dont have to be a doctor to see something is very wrong. He reminds me of Uncle Bruce in so many ways, said my aunt, who nursed her brother through Alzheimers disease. Joe Scarborough, who has known Trump for years, said in 2017 that Trump's mental confusion reminded him of his mother, who had Alzheimer's for 10 years. It's getting worse, and not a single person who works for him doesnt know he has early signs of dementia, he said of Trump last year on his MSNBC show.
To mental health professionals like me, the red flags are waving wildly. In January 2018, over 70 of us wrote a letter to the presidents physician, Dr. Ronny Jackson, urging him to administer a cognitive exam during the presidents physical because we had seen a marked deterioration in his verbal functioning, possibly due to cognitive decline.

(762 posts)They would whitewash the result like they have been doing with Traitor 45's physicals. The last physical still listed him as being 6'3". He's shorter in picture than Beavis Jr. who is 6'1".

(60,010 posts)AND has a severe psychiatric problem.
OUR problem is we tend to laff at the stupid things he does, even when some of those things are quite probably dementia related, and we tend to get angry at the narcissistic behaviors, even tho they are part of his psychiatric symptoms.
worse yet, this combination of problems make it impossible for anyone to successfully intervene and offer treatment.
We have to look at his behavior as a President problem, not as a personal problem.
the Constitution offers 2 modes of addressing a severely dysfunctional law-breaking President....impeachment and the 25th Amendment.
For either of those to be effective, we need majority votes in both Congressional chambers.
Meanwhile, those who people like Miller, Yertle, Hannity, etc who can manipulate trump, will continue to do so, at the expense of the rest of us.

(7,142 posts)but I don't think that he is stupid. I think that he acts stupid to appeal to his base, to be accepted by them.
Trump is a con man, he would have been a snake oil salesman in the Wild West.

It ain't going to happen. He's president until we vote him out.

(6,831 posts)to get him to a medical professional for help. He needs to be diagnosed and begin treatment. There are therapies and medications currently available to arrest and even slow the progression of dementia. You would think someone that cares for him would be concerned enough about what is best for him medically, that they would want to have him evaluated and undertake treatment as soon as possible. Left ignored, dementia will progress until neuronal damage occurs to other parts of the body.
Soon, it won't be a question of corruption/collusion/lawlessness. It will cease to be a legal matter and become a medical issue that cannot be overlooked or ignored.
Face it, if this was a member of your family, you'd move heaven and get them into care and treatments. The people around him cannot continue to ignore his deteriorating state of mind.
I can't stand him personally, but you'd think his family would want to see him get help.
