Pelosi must pick her poison on impeachment

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday she believes President Trump “has been involved in a criminal cover-up.” Too bad she’s not in a position to do something about it.

Oh wait, she is. If she truly believes the president has committed crimes, if she truly believes he has violated his oath of office, if she truly believes he is trampling the Constitution, she can have the House begin a formal impeachment inquiry. But she won’t.

When Pelosi says that most House Democrats do not favor launching a process that could lead to impeachment, she’s telling the truth, but not the whole truth. She is the respected and unchallenged leader of her caucus. If she were to change her mind, a lot of other minds would quickly follow.

Pelosi clearly believes impeachment is a political trap, and she may be right. But doing nothing looks increasingly like a political trap, too, which means the speaker is going to have to pick her poison. In politics, observation suggests, it is generally better to play offense than play defense. And in life, conscience demands, it is always best to do what you know is right.

Shall I mention how he and his fellow panelists giggled about the traitor and shook their fingers at HRC in the approach to the election? How they hardly mention the recons aside from the traitor and with the exception of walks on water Amash? And yet we/she should accept his judgment? No doubt they'll read an excerpt or two from this eye-opening piece when next he appears on MJ and they'll all commiserate over the Dems, in particular, Nancy while providing the traitor with criticisms of the only people in government who are trying to do something about him.

trump is like an invasive cancer on this country---unless efforts are made to remove him, there won't be any country to salvage. The Democratic leadership cannot wait for the American public to read the Mueller Report and get up to speed on just how bad trump really is---there has to be some leadership.
