While the Vietnam war was still raging, the Smothers Brothers wanted to have Pete Seeger sing that song on their show.
Pres. Lyndon Johnson called CBS and "asked" them to not allow the song to be done (long story - check it out).
Eventually it DID get played on their show - by PETE!

2. Remember "Hair"?

The song "35000" , referring to the number of American dead (At that date.) In Vietnam. Eventually it was updated to "58000" .
Our current misadministration sees no problem with a Covid death toll of over
100,000.
