Charles Blow, NYT: Trump will fight with everything he has to the bitter end to stay in power

I agree with him 100%. An excerpt below:

I say all this to say: Don’t fall prey to false hope that defeating Trump will be easy, that his horrifically incompetent response to the coronavirus has doomed him. It hasn’t. Trump will fight with everything he has to the bitter end to stay in power. He will never admit any fault. He will lie and lie and lie and lie some more. And the people who support him will stick with him every step of the way.

Joe Biden even believes Trump will try to alter the election calendar, saying, “Mark my words: I think he is gonna try to kick back the election somehow, come up with some rationale why it can’t be held.”

I put nothing past Trump, absolutely nothing! And neither should you. Be prepared for Trump to do anything and everything to win re-election in November. A man who can dismiss a recording of his own voice bragging about assaulting women is capable of anything.

“ He will lie and lie and lie and lie some more. And the people who support him will stick with him every step of the way.“

There is no way of dealing with him or his followers, even during this pandemic. We can beat him at the ballot box. That’s what we have left.

They need to brainstorm every possible horror that could possibly be done by Trump and come up with responses.
If they aren't well prepared, Trump could win and America would probably not be able to recover after another 4 years.

Playing defense is playing too late and not controlling the narrative.

I hope Biden's team is generating a list of horrors to put Trump and his goon squad on the defensive now, and continuing through the election.

I am a realist. Hope for the best but be prepared for the worst. He will do anything and everything illegal to stay in power and his enablers will pull shit that we never could have imagined.

He owns the GOP Senate and the SCOTUS. He will use the pandemic as a reason to cancel the elections indefinitely and his goon squad will back him up. For people who say the Constitution requires an election in November, it also puts restrictions on emoluments, and we've seen how Fat Donnie just blows them off. He's already saying he deserves an extra two years because of the investigations.

In the entire history of this nation, we have never experienced a president like this one. We keep trying to normalize him ("he has pivoted" ), accepting the unacceptable. We are on the verge of a coup, without the other side having fired a shot.

And Putin will have won.

these virus deaths will not cease anytime soon and it's folly to thing the ecomony will come roaring back and all everything will be just like it was before March.

And had an idea for an ad:

"Joe Biden is being falsely accused of sexual assault, but he doesn't need lies to make his case against an impeached president". Then play all the clips from tRump that factually present his sexual exploits--starting with the pussy tape.

Any Dems that try to Frankenize Biden better think about the big picture first.

Trump himself seems like he's really falling apart. And I've been saying this since he was put in power by said enablers.

This has been shaping up for a long time. There's a majority, a significant one, that will turn out and vote in numbers that he can't overcome. If he tries to alter the election, that will be an indication he knows what's coming.
