McConnell, just go ahead and call Obama the n-word

McConnell, just go ahead and call Obama the n-word | Column
Tampa Bay Times, 5/17, Leonard Pitts

...

Just say it, Mr. Majority Leader. Why not? After all, racial animus has been part of GOP DNA since the 1960s, when disaffected Democrats, horrified at the idea of African American voting and civil rights, fled to your ranks. For decades, the party wooed them in coded language that hid its meaning behind a fig leaf of deniability. You said, "law and order," "welfare queens" and "Willie Horton." You never said "n----r." Never had to.

Then Obama was elected. Panic surged through your party like an electric shock, and codes were burned like crosses, suddenly insufficient to express GOP apoplexy at this threat to white hegemony. Language that had been opaque suddenly became Windex clear as this Harvard-educated professor of constitutional law was dubbed a "street hustler," a "subhuman mongrel," an "uppity" "boy" with a fake birth certificate.

Trump has been a leader in this movement for rhetorical clarity. He’s dubbed Mexicans “rapists,” said Islam “hates us,” told four congresswomen to “go back” where they came from, called black and brown nations “sh--hole countries.”

So your disrespectful tone toward President Obama, earnest as it is, seems overly genteel and out of step with the moment. This is 2020, Mitch. In 2020, Republicans say what they mean and darn well mean what they say. So go ahead and call Obama the n-word. It would be offensive, yes. But we both know it would be honest, too.

"Our top priority should be to deny PRESIDENT OBAMA a second term."

See? He didn't lie. He tried his hardest - and failed.

But he did show us that he is a snake and did not do his job - keep the rats out of Washington.

HE MUST GO!!!!!

but if you push Republican rank and file hard enough, you can get them to say it. I've done that before. It's quite telling. They seem almost relieved at finally expressing what racist trash they truly are.

Our local paper used to have at least one Leonard Pitts article a week which I enjoyed reading, then a repug group (tribune?) bought it out and now it's just a propaganda rag for repugs

but Pitts knows as well as I do that as soon as McConnell hits the campaign trail back home and goes into his Senator Cornpone Crackerbarrel act for the jes' plain folks back home, that word is going to fly out of his mouth every few seconds during the meet & greet functions.

I wonder if many of his constituents know he is married to a "ch**k" spy? He does not hesitate to downgrade President Obama, but if we all started throwing racial slurs at his "wife" maybe he would think twice? Moscow Mitch's father-in-law (who isn't much older than him) runs drugs in his fleet of ships worldwide. Mitch got rich by loosening all the laws to allow this to continue. He is a disgrace to this country. Before anyone calls me "racist" let me point out that I am just advocating mimicking THEIR behavior. The MAGATS do not care how normal people perceive them so why should we?

It's what turtle boy's thinking. It's what they're all thinking. At least the racists kluckers back in the 20th century didn't couch their thoughts in semi-respectable language. They said exactly what they meant. There's a certain, raw respect for not being mealymouthed about it. We may hate their stance, but at least we knew exactly what it was. They were the forefathers of the modern Republican party, so McConnell should live up to his heritage and just come right out and say it.
