Val Demings is the perfect choice as Joe Biden's running mate

During some of the most threatening times in our nation's history - when circumstances have required a leader whose skills and experiences match the challenges confronting us - Americans have always had a knack for finding just the right person at the exactly the right time. In considering his running mate for the upcoming presidential election, former vice president Joe Biden may be contemplating such a scenario.

As a bitterly divided America confronts the social unrest spurred by George Floyd's murder and the seemingly endless loop of sickening cell phone videos showing similar acts of violence, there is one candidate on Biden's short list who is uniquely qualified to face this challenge head on: Congresswoman Val Demings (D-Fla.).

Joe Biden is likely a 1 term president, at best. His VP selection will be highly relevant, especially given his age.

Val Demings is WONDERFUL, but she's been a Representative for only 3 years. For a VP choice who has a good chance of becoming President, I personally don't think she's qualified to be the VP for Joe. Same applies for other WoC like Abrams, Bottoms etc.

To me, Joe has two realistic choices: Senator Elizabeth Warren or Senator Kamala Harris. IMHO, either of them is excellent, and could easily take up the Presidential mantle if required.

Val Demings is not Donald Trump, but is far more qualified than him. But not for President, in the same way that Donald Trump was NEVER qualified to be President or anything else except a failed reality show and alleged rich person.

Demings is incredibly competent. Let her win and succeed in a statewide office and she would be fine. That won't happen in 2020.

If Biden doesn’t run for re-election there will be a melee for the nomination anyway.

Senator Elizabeth Warren. She has the vast experience in government at all levels, has the energy and stamina, and proven record.

Considering Biden's age etc, we need an experienced VP who can step in without needing OTJT.

If he feels he has to chose a black woman-Kamala Harris.

If he chooses a white woman-elizabeth Warren. I swear, she is my age
and has a hell of a lot more energy than I do and I'm in reasonably good
shape. She seems like she's in her mid 50's.

Either one I 'm fine with. I had read some stuff about Val Demings, who I
also liked, something about problems when she was Chief of Police. I don't remember what it was.

so much of what Trump's conspiracy theories seem to be this time around. She has first hand experience plus she doesn't suffer a dangerous fool like Trump. She would be a good attack dog as the VP should be. I would dare Pence to say "Trump's broad shouldered leadership" to her in a debate.

She comes from my neck of the woods and she's got some real problems in the current circumstance. While she was the top cop, there were some bad discipline problems and she came down on the wrong side of them in many ways.

"After review of the defensive tactic form by the training staff and Officer [Travis] Lamont's chain of command, it appears the officer performed the technique within department guidelines," Demings said in a statement.

The victim was 84.
