Pence's Remarks in a Listening Session with Faith and Community Leaders; Pittsburgh, PA, 06-12-2020
I went to the bank this morning to cash a check (yes, from George Soros). I looked up an saw a plane that looked like AF2. It was about the right time and right flight path for Pence to be en route from Joint Base Andrews to Pittsburgh.
Pence to kick off American Comeback tour in Pennsylvania
June 10, 2020
WASHINGTON (AP) Vice President Mike Pence will make an appearance at a manufacturing plant near Pittsburgh on Friday as part of a new campaign effort showcasing the nations economy making a comeback.
President Donald Trump had planned to run for reelection on the back of a strong economy, a hope dashed by the coronavirus pandemic and ensuing economic devastation, including a soaring unemployment rate. But he seized on a better-than-expected jobs report released last week, and his campaign quickly made an ad proclaiming the great American comeback has begun.
That theme will continue Friday on the Great American Comeback Tour, which is being organized by America First Policies, a nonprofit associated with the America First Action super PAC supporting Trumps reelection. Other administration officials, including Ivanka Trump and trade adviser Peter Navarro, may appear at the tours later dates.
Officials said the event is just one of the several stops Pence will make in the Pittsburgh area on Friday, including a meeting with faith leaders amid nationwide protests following the death of George Floyd after a white Minneapolis police officer pressed his knee into Floyds neck while Floyd was handcuffed and lying on the ground.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Well, Bishop Garlington, thank you for those inspiring words. Thank you to Covenant Church, to the judge, and to the pastors and friends who are here. As Bishop Garlington just said, Im here to listen.
And Im looking forward, as I know Senator Toomey is, to gaining your insights about how we we continue to move our nation forward in the aftermath of the tragic death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. I mean, there was no excuse for what happened to George Floyd. And President Trump has made it clear that justice will be served.
I know I speak for people across this country when I say theres also no excuse for the violence and the rioting and the looting that took place here in the Pittsburgh area and all across the country.
And we commend the leadership at the national level and state and local level and our law enforcement community that quelled that violence and allowed the peaceful protests to continue.
