Trump lashes out after critics highlight unsteady walk down West Point ramp

  • Trump didn’t want to ‘fall for the Fake News to have fun with’
  • Speculation about his health has dogged his time in office

Amid widespread comment about his apparent difficulty walking down a ramp at West Point on Saturday, Donald Trump tweeted a predictably angry and dismissive response.

“The ramp that I descended after my West Point commencement speech was very long and steep,” the president wrote, “had no handrail and, most importantly, was very slippery. The last thing I was going to do is ‘fall’ for the Fake News to have fun with. Final ten feet I ran down to level ground. Momentum!”

    . . .

In equally familiar fashion, the tweet only stoked the flames, prompting observers to note that West Point superintendent Darryl A Williams did not seem to find the ramp difficult, and that Trump did not in fact run its last section, instead taking just a few quicker steps.

Others noted that, as so often, Trump had previously tweeted a complaint about his predecessor … running down a slope.

“The way President Obama runs down the stairs of Air Force 1,” Trump wrote on 22 April 2014, “hopping & bobbing all the way, is so inelegant and unpresidential. Do not fall!

Clearly, Trump did it that way on purpose to show Obama how it's supposed to be done, all elegant and presidential-like!

GREAT memes being created (see other posts here at DU) and serious follow-up with medical professionals regarding what was seen by many.
And, of course, the angry and futile response from BunkerBoy himself!

There are advance teams both at West Point and Secret Service that do scrupulous inspections of safety before an event. I promise you that the dampness claimed on the ramp would have been totally addressed. I also note the others using the ramp didn't seem to have any hesitation going down.

I used to be 5' 6 1/2" . I am now 5'5". Over time, bone loss in the spine happens in men and women as they age regardless of diet, exercise, etc. It is GENETICS more than likely.

There was a photo of Trump next to Barron, who appeared to be way taller than his father. Look at where the shoulders hit. Trump's poor eating habits jand lack of vigorious exercise just may be contributing factors in his overall posture and health, which also makes underlying diseases more prevelant.
