This editorial from The Mirror surprised me (re: British bigotry)

'Who to believe? Meghan Markle or the family with the history of racism'

Meghan Markle's claims during her Oprah Winfrey interview that Archie would not be made a Prince because of his skin colour "would have woken you up fast", says Darren Lewis

In the words of Chandler from hit US comedy Friends: ‘It’s so bad. It’s so, so bad.’

Predictably, the reaction from their hyperventilating critics is that they are both lying. Ah, that old chestnut. Where have we heard that before?

Yet as Bernice King, daughter of civil rights icon Martin Luther King, rightly tweeted shortly afterwards: “Royalty is not a shield from the devastation and despair of racism.”

They’ll come for her again, of course they will. Some more spurious, confected, damaging claims around Meghan will doubtless materialise as if by magic over the coming days.

get it and will when Charles takes the throne which changes the light a little for me. I did not know there was a legitimate reason. I thought awfully bodacious. But then also, only Williams oldest is allowed prince and the Queen allowed specially for the two other children and not Harry's children so maybe that is where the rub is.

I did not know that info though and why I provided here.

was famous for wearing racist brooches when she met with Ms. Markle.

Racist brooches... that is the most Duchess Karen thing ever.
As for the "prince" title- this woman is merely the wife of the queen's cousin, and she's called Princess.

“British women can’t cook”

“Everybody was saying we must have more leisure. Now they are complaining they are unemployed” (during the 1981 recession).

“You are a woman, aren’t you?” (in Kenya after accepting a small gift from a local woman).

“If you stay here much longer you’ll all be slitty-eyed” (to a group of British students during a royal visit to China).

“You can’t have been here that long, you haven’t got pot belly” (to a Briton he met in Hungary).

“Aren’t most of you descended from pirates?” (to a wealthy islander in the Cayman Islands).

“How do you keep the natives off the booze long enough to pass the test” (to a Scottish driving instructor).

“It looks as if it was put in by an Indian” (referring to an old-fashioned fuse box in a factory near Edinburgh).

“Still throwing spears?” (question put to an Aboriginal Australian during a visit).

“There’s a lot of your family in tonight” (after looking at the name badge of businessman Atul Patel at a Palace reception for British Indians).

“The Philippines must be half-empty as you’re all here running the NHS” (on meeting a Filipino nurse at Luton and Dunstable Hospital).

in today’s Britain? True, he was a white guy, but his complexion was supposed to have been about the same tint as Megan Markle’s.
