The new big lie Republicans want you to believe? That there's a puppeteer at the White House.
Only 5% of Americans in their 70s have dementia. Theres no reason to assume Joe Biden is one of them, unless youre looking for political ammunition.
Casual ageism is a staple of the conservative arsenal against the president, and it would be laughable except that its so insulting not just to him but to two generations of seniors. Like the big lie that Donald Trump actually won the 2020 election and will be reinstated as president any day now, we now have the big lie that Biden, at 78, is muddled and incapacitated.
A relative told me hes worried about the country because Biden just naps and watches TV all day, and no one is in charge. And where might he have heard that? Well, Tucker Carlson says Biden is senile and cant think clearly. Sean Hannity calls him President Sippy Cup and says hes lazy. A few days ago, he reamed Biden for enjoying another long weekend off in Delaware instead of working around the clock at a command center to secure the release of Americans and allies still in Afghanistan. (I guess Hannity's not familiar yet with the concept of remote work.)

(3,240 posts)Trump is all over the place when he talks, changing the subject constantly. When he's not praising himself, he's spouting some conspiracy theory he heard on TV. We know this from actual video of Trump speeches and rallies.
Biden, on the other hand, stays on subject and actually has something to say. He never brags, and doesn't spout nonsense memes and theories.

(22,112 posts)they have failed miserably. They will continue to fail too, as their outlandish and idiotic claims that Pres. Biden is this or is that, etc., especially when you compare how many times rump went to his golf courses (over 400 at least). Where's the selective and biased outrage here at rump's seemingly unlimited trips to his golf courses? His padding taxpayer dollars for his craven benefit, and the obviously very slanted bias by carlson and hannity (both idiots and fake newscasters)...

(41,131 posts)at his second home than the White House? Pres. Ronald Raygun, mainly snoozing while his handlers did the GOP dirty work. Dutch was at the ranch near Santa Clara, California far more than the executive mansion.
What insults to hard working President Biden striving to hold the country together in the midst of fascist mayhem, insurrection, a raging pandemic and doing a remarkable job despite major obstacles.
