Mob rule is overtaking America, driven by the collapse of the Republican Party

In a profoundly detached fit of magical thinking, GOP leader Mitch McConnell told journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa that the Trump era was on the wane.

In their recently released book Peril, McConnell is quoted as saying there was "a clear trend moving" away from Trump and he was "a fading brand."

McConnell, who is hailed by many Beltway journalists as a master strategist, had obviously created his own alternative reality because he prefers it to the one in which Trumpism is crushing his fanciful delusions about the present state of the Republican Party—and his place in it.

In fact, Trump and, more specifically, Trumpism, are reshaping everything from the policies Republicans champion to the candidates who will prevail in GOP primaries to the lawmakers who will fill GOP seats. The Republican Party is enduring a full Trump makeover inside and out, and anyone who doesn't see it is living in fantasy land.

Far from “fading,” Trump's influence is metastasizing. When it comes to party leadership, Trump's list of endorsees has grown to roughly 40, giving everyone he blesses a leg up in their primary. At the same time, he continues to force GOP lawmakers into retirement—particularly those with any sense of integrity, dignity, or independent thinking skills.

So much violent action by the Trumpers and not a cop to be found to preserve the peace.

And unfortunately a lot of the others tend to look the other way. It’s the culture of the institution

Around here it’s at least 65% - totally unwilling to do their job and preserve the peace.

I have met and dealt with some really good cops. They are in it for the right reasons and do their best to do a good job. Unfortunately, I’m sure I’ve met just as many that become cops for all the wrong reasons. In my job as a newspaper photographer, it was easy to spot the bad ones at any location. They hated journalists even us local people

and how many people ingratiate themselves w a good cop, expecting favors which the guy lets them think he will grant some day?
it's actually easy to get let into the corrupt club. look the other way when a cop testilies, and the next time you meet him, he will be inclined to do you a favor.
the line is sooooo very thin.

And I’m guessing the good cop/bad cop ratio has a lot with where you live. I live in crazy fucked up Idaho - so your mileage may very.

of how successful his endorsements are:

Trump endorsements did affect the races: Our research found that Trump-endorsed candidates raised more money from more donors immediately following the president’s endorsement.

But an endorsement from President Trump also benefited the endorsed candidate’s Democratic opponent. Democrats took advantage of Trump’s unpopularity among Democrats and independents and made sure that those voters also knew about the endorsement. And while endorsed candidates raised more money, their opponents also raised more money from more donors immediately following the president’s endorsement.

-snip-

Races with a presidential endorsement had higher turnout than comparable races without an endorsement – but that didn’t help the endorsed candidate. Instead, Trump’s 2018 endorsements decreased the endorsed candidate’s vote share by almost 2.5 percentage points compared with candidates in similar districts who did not receive Trump’s endorsement.

Without Trump’s endorsement, Republicans likely would have won control of Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District in 2018 rather than having to wait until 2020 for Republican Michelle Fischbach to defeat incumbent Democrat Collin Peterson. Likewise, without Trump’s endorsement of New Jersey Rep. Tom MacArthur in 2018, our estimates suggest he would have won reelection by about 1.2 percentage points rather than losing by 1.3 percentage points.

Ultimately, we found that Trump’s endorsements cost Republicans 16 seats – exactly 20% of the 80 candidates he endorsed. That represented 12 in the House of Representatives and four in the Senate.

I say, Bring It, GOP. It will be a bumpy couple of years, but Republicans have exactly ZERO issues to run on besides using their Soviet Psyop techniques to Rat F**k Americans. MSM should be closely scrutinized.
