Trump jokingly suggests false flag operation against Russia

At an event with Republican National Committee donors on Saturday, former President Donald Trump joked about conducting a false flag operation against Russia, CBS News reported.

The U.S. military should "put the Chinese flag on" F-22 stealth fighters, "bomb the s--t," out of Russia, "say, 'China did it, we didn't do it, China did it,'" and then "sit back and watch" as Russia and China "start fighting," Trump said.

In the weeks leading up to the invasion of Ukraine, intelligence analysts warned that Russia might use a false flag operation, potentially involving a staged video showing dead civilians or an attack by Russian special forces masquerading as Ukrainians, to justify war with Ukraine. Ultimately, though, Russian President Vladimir Putin did not rely on any single incident — faked or otherwise — for his casus belli.

Trump's audience reportedly laughed at his remarks about framing China for American airstrikes against Russian targets, but there were those who took him seriously.................................

And an opine about what Trump said:

He's an unpredictable hothead in a situation crying out for wisdom and diplomacy

...............................................

Trump, meanwhile, is out there doing what he always does: Saying provocative, dangerous stuff.

Here he is on Saturday night, speaking to Republican donors in New Orleans:

Maybe he was joking. But presidents, and those who aspire to the presidency, don't have the luxury of frivolity in matters of war and peace.

So let's take him seriously. If he meant it, Trump's proposal is the opposite of thoughtful and diplomatic: It's dangerous and stupid. Dangerous, because (as has been said a million times already) nobody should want the United States and Russia to get into a shooting war. The best-case scenario is that the conflict becomes World War III and ravages Europe; the worst-case scenario is it goes nuclear and destroys human life on this planet. And it's stupid — there is no other word — what one observer called "the dumbest false flag operation in history": Does anybody but Trump think the Russians would really be fooled by American warplanes attacking from American bases just because a different flag was painted on them? Even if that gambit somehow improbably worked, the idea is that it would end with a shooting war between China and Russia, which would also be terrible for the world.............................................

His humor, if you want to call it that, is all about nastyness, making fun of others, and often floating a horrible idea but allowing him to deny it as just a joke while knowing many in his audience agree.

Ha-ha. Such a funny guy.

Prison could quiet him some. No point prosecuting him unless
he goes to prison.

And, why does Lindsey Graham suddenly want to take out Putin too? I remember the golf outing after Trump got back from kissing Putins ass, he and Lindsey had a talk, and Lindsey suddenly flipped on a topic. What was that topic? I have to go back, but no two republicans had this queer-odd bond like Trump and Lindsey!
