Why should people living in a republic next to Alaska remain in the orb of and under the thumb of a declining Russia?

The natural population, a number calculated from registered deaths and births, excluding the impact of migration, declined by 997,000 between October 2020 and September 2021, the demographer Alexei Raksha has calculated.

At this point, I would have to understand what army he would intend to use to do this.

If has Ukraine along with Kaliningrad, Belarus, Lithuania, and Ukraine he will have a bigger border with Poland. I don't think he will invade any NATO country if he wins in Ukraine because the Russian army will have to regroup first considering the Russian army casualties in Ukraine. I am not even sure he wants all of Ukraine. These are just my thoughts, I don't have any facts.

Then again, I'm a high-school science teacher who studied Slavic languages, so what do I know?

I'd have a build-up in Kaliningrad. And along the Baltic border.

Push the Baltics into the sea as Kaliningrad assaults Poland. By the time NATO responds, Baltics are no more and the Baltic-deployed troops can head SW.

If Finland and Sweden were to be in NATO or NATO allied, that would be harder. Gee, didn't they voice some suggestion along that direction, and didn't Putin's staff engage in serious fit-pitching at such a threat?
