Here's why a no-fly zone over Ukraine is off the table

WASHINGTON
Excerpt:
But one option the Biden administration has definitively taken off the table: imposing a no-fly zone over Ukraine.
Excerpt: What thatd require is implementation by the U.S. military, Psaki said. It would essentially mean the U.S. military would be shooting down planes, Russian planes. That is definitely escalatory.
To be credible, we would have to be willing to take that first shot, Penney said. Starting that kinetic war with Russia is something that the administration has been very careful to avoid. Every element of escalation has been initiated from Russia, and that has been key to a lot of the international support for Ukraine.
John Venable, a defense policy expert from the Heritage Foundation and former F-16 pilot, agreed. A no-fly zone would be a declaration of war in [Russian President Vladimir] Putins mind, he said.

(4,007 posts)Ask the same questions about no fly zone and we get many varied answers from mostly non current administration officials and each has their version of what to do about this no fly zone. I say, just ask current administration officials this question if you want real time answers. Too many arm chair generals on these shows.
Personally I cant watch all day/ night coverage knowing I will hear personal opinion and not factual opinion.
One more week of this lopsided coverage will get Americans very angry towards USA. We all know how that will turn out. Most pundits have no idea how many arms and equipment we are sending.
Its best to watch sparingly unless you like your blood pressure sky high and feel helpless.
Sorry for the long post.
