Recently unsealed video shows California man screaming 'I can't breathe' before dying in police custody after 2020 traffic stop

A federal judge has unsealed a video taken by the California Highway Patrol that captures the death of Edward Bronstein, a 38-year-old man who was in their custody following a March 2020 traffic stop in Los Angeles County.

Bronstein is heard repeatedly telling officers, "I can't breathe," while pinned on the ground.
Those three words would tug at the world's conscience less than two months later when repeated by George Floyd before his death while being restrained by Minneapolis police.

We've got to get smarter cops who are not obsessed with being obeyed and who can use common sense...do not put your knees on someone's back and press all your fucking weigh on them while they keep saying "I can't breathe."

Too many stupid cops on police forces. Require at least an associates degree. It's a job which puts peoples' lives in cops hands. We should not continue to give bullying jerks with a power obsession that power over us.

We got to get these personality types OUT of any position that gives them power over others.

Imho,they are unworthy of life because of who they are and what they do. If you dont like that,lock them away once they show a pattern of abuse.

Wish there was some kind of psychological test that can be used in police training to identify these extreme misfits before they kill someone. Then we can put them in the military.

But the psychopaths and thier enablers will make sure the tests never happen.

Narcissists,sociopaths and authoritarians fear their normal guy mask being taken off. Because than we would know the kind of people they really are. And tests would reveal who they are.

Harrowing video has emerged of a California DUI suspect who died after screaming “I can’t breathe!” while being held down by cops – less than two months before George Floyd uttered the same haunting words to police in Minneapolis.

Edward Bronstein, 38, was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence by California Highway Patrol Officer Dusty Osmanson after a traffic stop on the 5 Freeway on March 31, 2020, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The suspect was taken to the CHP’s Altadena station, where officers tried forcibly to draw his blood to measure his alcohol level, but he reportedly refused.

The 16-minute video captured by a sergeant shows Bronstein kneeling on the ground while an officer presses his hands onto his shoulders while another officer, who is off camera, orders him to comply with a court-ordered blood draw.
