Donald Trump's legal problems aren't going away
Analysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large
I've believed for a long time now that the biggest threat to Donald Trump in 2024 is not political. It's legal.
That belief was affirmed on Monday when a federal judge in California concluded that it is "more likely than not that President Trump corruptly attempted to obstruct the Joint Session of Congress on January 6, 2021."
The ruling -- courtesy of Judge David Carter -- was as direct an acknowledgement of the former President's legal peril as it relates to last year's riot at the US Capitol as we have seen to date.
The case in which Carter ruled was whether the House committee tasked with investigating January 6 could gain access to communications from lawyer John Eastman, who penned an infamous memo making the case that then-Vice President Mike Pence could overturn the Electoral College results.

(19,193 posts)that has bilked well over $125,000,000 from his faithful cult, ostensibly for everything from; "Stop the Steal", his pipedream of "Trump Force 1", electing Trump friendly candidates, his multitudinous legal bills etc. etc. etc but he hasn't spent one penny of it on anything.
He just keeps amassing millions of dollars donated by his seething hoard of wayward children, still looking for the angry daddy in the sky who never seems to answer their prayers. They've substituted Trump for said "angry daddy", but this one isn't answering any prayers either. He's just collecting money like the other angry daddy. You'd think they'd see a pattern forming here, but they're not too swift on the uptake.
So Trump is well equipped to handle any legal ramifications of his lawlessness, and as we all know Trump's legal strategy has always been, "stall everything in court until the other side gives up".
Trump will undoubtedly be dead and in the grave before any of his legal problems catch up to him. And all those millions will still remain untouched.
