Russian Host Says Biden Should Be Ousted for Moscow 'Partner' Donald Trump

A Russian state TV host has said that President Joe Biden should be removed from office and replaced by his predecessor Donald Trump, whom he described as a "partner" for Moscow.
The view expressed by Evgeny Popov on the Russian program 60 Minutes on Tuesday follows Biden's comments that Russian President Vladimir Putin "cannot remain in power," which prompted a semblance of damage control from the White House, which insisted he was not calling for regime change.
Biden's comments made in Warsaw on Saturday during a European visit, amid Russia's continued bombardment of Ukraine and claims Putin's forces were targeting civilians, have gained a lot of traction in Russia.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called it a "personal insult," and the White House's apparent damage control afterwards highlighted concerns that Biden's comment could be a diplomatic obstacle to ending the war.
In a comment suggesting who Russia would prefer in the White House, Popov said on Channel One on Tuesday: "It's time for us, our people, to call on the people of the United States to change the regime in the U.S. early, and to again help our partner, Trump, to become president."
