The GOP no longer argues that free markets, rather than government, should choose winners and losers.
In todays Republican Party, the primary economic role of the state is not to get out of the way. It is, instead, to reward friends and crush political enemies.
Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham expressed the new ethos in a recent monologue threatening companies that advocated for LGBTQ rights, ballot access, racial justice and sundry other political stances that are anathema in todays GOP.
When Republicans, they get back into power, Apple and Disney need to understand one thing: Everything will be on the table, Ingraham warned. Your copyright, trademark protection. Your special status within certain states. And even your corporate structure itself. The antitrust division at Justice needs to begin the process of considering which American companies need to be broken up once and for all for competitions sake, and ultimately for the good of the consumers who pay the bills.

Rather than run on any policy - or actually govern - they think they are on to something with agrreived voters who blame progressive policies for all of their ills (HINT: its ususally Republican REgressive governing that keep people down).
When has any Republican pol done the first thing to actually help their like either?
And its so obvious Biden and them Dems ARE in spite of their GQP heroes doing everything they possibly can to try and
You think theyd see this but apparently Hunters laptop block their view.
Idiots.

(42,642 posts)I found it jarring when the President of the United States of America attacked American businesses when TFG was in office. There was not nearly enough of an outcry every single time that happened.

(3,525 posts)Big businesses may start to realize that their political donations may be better off going to Democrats. After all, the threat of higher taxes on their businesses may be preferable to politicians demanding that they run their businesses to suit right-wing platforms.
