Social workers are quitting over Texas' anti-trans child care order

(CN) — Randa Mulanax worked at Texas Child Protective Services for six years, ultimately leading a small unit of investigators in Austin. But when a new policy required her to investigate families of transgender children, Mulanax decided she couldn’t be part of a mission that “didn’t feel right.”

In March, just weeks after the new rules went into effect, Mulanax resigned. In a letter to supervisors, she expressed concern these investigations would “cause trauma” and harm families “that are only trying to support their child and make them feel loved.”

“We are an agency that is here to protect the unprotected,” Mulanax wrote, but these new rules were “politically motivated” and “unethical.” She accused state officials of “actively discriminating against a specific sect of people” and warned they might cause “irreparable damage” to Texas’ protective services department.

“We’re kind of being told to turn on people we consider family,” McCowen said. “I didn’t think that in 2022, we’d still be fighting for basic rights.”

Intelligent, free-thinking people leave the state. It will take years but it will happen.

is much different from the time you lived here as a child. I would advise you to stay right where you are. There are no even liberal states in the Midwest anymore.

Help them get homes and jobs.

And starve the red states of representation.

The more dems move to blue states the better. Then the rethugs pissed at being around us liberals will move to the red states with thier own kind.

asshat needs to get his jollies off by hurting kids.

Maybe Ken Paxton is a pedophile that needs to be investigated. Maybe we should all look into that and report our findings.

Hang them. If we let them live they'll keep spreading thier traitorous beliefs like a virus.. and in 100 years or so we will be right where we are right now.

Propaganda and traitous beliefs are not free speech. Sure be a critic but being a traitor? That is dangerous .

And pleeeze can we get rid of capitalism? Greed is not a good thing to base an economic system on.

because they lie cheat and steal and go bankrupt! They only like "socialism" when they get our tax dollars for their bailouts. These "capitalists" get more welfare money than anyone in this country. What a joke, a very BAD unfunny joke.

It sounds like she is a caring person. When she leaves her job, she’ll probably be replaced by someone that doesn’t care as much. If she had stayed, she could have slow-walked any case she had authority over, or just kept it at the bottom of the pile and closed it in the parent’s favor.

Working that job must be soul crushing if you have any humanity in you. I know I couldn’t do it.

I moved to Texas last year to be near my mother. Every week I regret the decision, more and more, but I can’t leave now. I just have to fight against the rising tide.

Any and all cases of child abuse should be investigated and acted upon.

Because a gang of dickless wonders in Texas would rather fixate on their petty bigotry for trans people, such cases are being ignored so innocent trans youth and their families can be dragged through a witch hunt, be persecuted, etc. etc. etc..

Abbully and Poxton have managed to not only hurt trans youth and their families, but real victims because CPS is too busy doing the QOP dirty work to do their jobs.

"THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!" You first, Texas.
