It's a Miracle! 281 dead people who voted in Arizona election in 2020 are found alive!

Just more evidence, on top of the already Mt. Everest-high pile of it that proves Trump's claims of massive voter fraud are really a massive lie.

Arizona's Republican faction may well be the single most backward, provincial, profoundly ignorant group of Republicans anywhere in the country, worse even than Texas, Alabama or Florida. Dominated by a religious sect that believes God is a man with thousands of wives who lives on the planet Kolob somewhere out in the universe, haunted by the ghost of Barry Goldwater, and emerging from a 2022 primary with some of the more crazy extremists from the lunatic fringe of the GOP on the ballot, the choice in 2022 may be more of one between sanity and insanity, reality or fantasy, democracy or fascism, than anywhere else in the country.

On a more positive note, I believe change is coming to Arizona and 2020 was just the beginning. It's been building for more than a decade. Helped along by the cruel extremism of former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who motivated thousands of mostly Latino voters to register and oust him, and then continue to show up and keep him out, and by economic growth that is attracting a stream of new residents across the Colorado River from politically liberal California, the Democrats have emerged with a slim, but growing majority of voters while the GOP declines in voter registration in the state. Much of the GOP decline is due to the defection of white, college educated women from the party, noticeably accelerated by the recent Dobbs decision of the Supreme Court. The polling data looks great for both Katie Hobbs' run for governor, and for Mark Kelly to keep his Senate seat, and, thanks to Fann and the Cyber Ninjas, to capture the majority of both houses of the legislature.

Yet another bogus voter fraud claim falls apart

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/republican-ag-discredits-another-key-election-conspiracy-theory-rcna41103

And so, the Grand Canyon State’s Republican attorney general, Mark Brnovich, got to work, assigning an Election Integrity Unit to investigate the allegations. As The New York Times reported, the results couldn’t have been clearer.

Accusations that hundreds of ballots were cast in Arizona in 2020 in the name of dead voters are unfounded, the state’s Republican attorney general said on Monday in a sharply worded letter to the president of the Arizona Senate, who has advanced false claims of voter fraud.

Brnovich said some of the claims were “absurd,” adding that “the names and birth dates didn’t even match the deceased, and others included dates of death after the election.”

It’s striking enough to see another GOP conspiracy theory about the election fall apart, but it’s important to emphasize the political context: It was in the Arizona attorney general’s interest to come to the opposite conclusion, but he couldn’t manufacture evidence that doesn’t exist.......

It was against this backdrop that Brnovich really tried to find evidence of widespread voter fraud and/or irregularities in the 2020 race — but he couldn’t find anything because there was no evidence to find......'

The result is one of the year’s strangest electoral dynamics: An ambitious state attorney general wants to help his Senate campaign by making conspiracy theorists happy, but he can’t do that because he’s stuck with reality as it exists. The former president, meanwhile, is so convinced that his own lies are true that he sees the attorney general as disloyal for failing to pursue investigations into crimes that only happened in his overactive imagination.

That Q is now accusing Joe Biden of necromancy. I suppose that would be one way for JFK to be alive.

but I think the odds are that once these people get out of the primaries and on the campaign trail, they will find that a percentage of Republicans won't support them, nor will most independents. That's happening in Pennsylvania and in Georgia right now, and I think, depending on who winds up getting nominations in Arizona, will happen there, too.

I'm more optimistic at this particular point than I was two months back.

While stated before, some of the Q crazies may win, I am so much more optimistic than ever. I really believe we'll pick up 4 Senates seats, keep the House and gain some state legislators.

And a Trumpie loony will get the GOP nomination. Easy win for Kelly's re-election.

Something to celebrate, Fann, who is the biggest laughingstock in the state now, exhibiting a level of incompetence in choosing a partisan hard line Trumper to conduct an "independent" and completely unnecessary audit of Maricopa County's ballots that is hard to fathom, a lack of competence and reason that is an embarrassment to women in politics everywhere, is not running for re-election. Her seat, in a gerrymandered and GOP safe senate district isn't likely to go to a Democrat, but her incompetence and her ridiculous assertions and choice of the Cyber Ninjas will go down in state history as one of the most boneheaded acts ever committed by a state legislator, and in Arizona, that's a pretty low threshold. It will also, very likely, cost the GOP their slim majority in both houses.
